It is so beautiful and quiet, there are no cars on the street because it is so slippery and the snow muffles noise, even your footsteps - I was in absolute awe! The northern girls just laughed at me and thought I was being silly!
Ofcourse, Paris isn't used to the snow so there was absolute chaos with everyone tryign to get home, no buses, trains not running to any timetable. They had plenty of warning that it was going to snow so not sure why they didn't put snow tyres/chains or encourage people to stay at home. There was a big outcry from the public about how unprepared they were. Paris didn't work for 2 days basically! Classes were still on though :(
I was dying to find a sled and go sliding down the hills like the kids were, there were even people with snowboards out!
I love the snow, its so pretty. After a day or two it turns to icy mush which is not so great but when its fresh and beautiful you cna't help falling in love with it!
